Crystallisation – music

Crystallisation is a piece of music inspired by our research at the University of Birmingham into the process of crystallisation of metal–organic frameworks. The piece reflects a transition from disorder to order through clustering, nucleation and crystal growth.

Crystallisation was composed as a 12-minute piece of music for jazz ensemble in 2022-23 by Pablo Sonnaillon, and later arranged for symphony orchestra. It was premiered at CoCoMAD festival in 2024.

Recording release date in late 2024/early 2025 – watch this space!
