Formation, Organisation & Response of Materials
Today Sophie and Hannah submitted their MSci project reports, and we celebrated with a meal at Kimchi in Selly Oak. Well done both of you!

We bid a fond farewell to Joe Barker, who leaves UoB for an exciting Postdoc Research position in the group of Prof Fiona Meldrum at the University of Leeds.
Joe joined the group this year as he was finishing off his PhD research, to help with our MSci projects jointly supervised by Prof Paul Anderson. It was great having you at our group meetings and learning from all your insights into carboxyphosphonate MOFs.
We’ll miss you but we’re looking forward to watching all the developments in your career and research in future!

Congratulations to Vicky and Matt for handing in their MSci theses today!
The group celebrated the occasion with a wonderfully al-fresco lunch and bubbly at Joe’s bar. Much like today’s weather, the projects this year were not exactly free from disruption but Vicky and Matt both did a great job nevertheless!
It was great to have you in the group – good luck for all your future endeavours and well done again!
This month Joe Atherton joins us to start his PhD project on pre-nucleation in MOF formation, and Vicky Akroyd and Matt Bradberry begin their MSci fourth year projects with us. Welcome Joe, Vicky and Matt!
